Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty is one of our leading specialties.
Abdominoplasty procedure
Patients presenting with the problem of a skin fold hanging above the pubic symphysis require abdominoplasty. Often, there is an umbilical hernia and a separation of the rectus abdominis muscles at the same time – a hernia of the linea alba.
It should be remembered that a abdominoplasty is not a way to lose weight, but to correct the fold that occurs after a previous large weight loss, e.g. after losing weight due to diet and training or pregnancy.
Types of abdominoplasty procedures
Classic abdominoplasty
It is a procedure which involves excision of the excess skin and subcutaneous tissue along with umbilicus transplantation.
Miniplasty
We remove the excess tissue below the umbilicus, if there are indications, the hernia is treated at the same time and we perform muscle-plasty.

Abdominal plastic surgery is more often decided by women than men, although men also often struggle with the problem of an unaesthetic abdomen. Excess skin that remains on the abdomen after pregnancy or after losing a significant amount of unnecessary kilograms can be removed thanks to abdominoplasty. Here are selected examples from Dr. Joanna Kurmanow’s practice.
