Hip endoprosthesis Poznan
We invite you for consultations on hip or knee endoprostheses in Poznań. We provide care of the best specialists in the treatment of the hip joint in a private hospital in Środa Wielkopolska.
Coxarthrosis
Coxarthrosis, or degeneration of the hip joint, affects about 4% of people over 60 years of age. However, this ailment is reported to us by younger, even 40-year-old patients. The most common cause of this disease is a developmental defect of the hip, namely too shallow acetabulum in which the head of the femur moves. Part of it slips outside the acetabulum, eventually leading to the destruction of the hip joint.
The development of hip degeneration is favored by diabetes, overweight, alcoholism as well as injuries and diseases of the hip in childhood.
Treatment of the hip joint
First of all, you should relieve the loaded joint, and therefore reduce weight in the case of overweight or obesity. The patient should move around with a cane or special crutches and practice regular exercises that improve the condition of the muscles. We also recommend physical therapy.
In the case of advanced degeneration of the joint, we refer patients for the implantation of a hip endoprosthesis.
Endoprosthesis-plasty of the hip joint allows you to eliminate nagging pain and gives long-term durability of the effect of surgical treatment.
Indications for hip replacement surgery are assessed by an orthopedist. The course of treatment of the degeneration of the hip joint is discussed by the doctor with the patient after the examination. These are:
